Cafe at 'the gathering place'
Great cafe last Saturday. Genine and the folks at the Gathering Place hosted THE LOBBY so well. A big thank you to them. To be honest, I wish there was a little better turnout from some other churches. But such is life. Young Adults do get busy and can't make everything on the calendar. The majority of the people were from PPC and a few of us from CLC. I'm hoping that our next couple of Cafe's move back to a more broad crowd of YA's from various churches. One of the reason's we do this Cafe is for people to connect and build some community.
That being said, the band played great and we had a cool discussion on what it means to 'prepare for Easter'. How important are things like Lent & Holy Week? Do we actually have to Lament on Good Friday and Party on Easter Sunday?
Our next Cafe is on Saturday April, 17 @ Evangel in Oshawa.
We'll have a guest musician in: Terry Posthumus
See ya there!

great cafe at King Street
Just wanted to leave a quit post to say that we had a really great night at King Street last night. They hosed the cafe so well; tons of food, tons of help and lots of people. Dave Smith rocked the house with his music set and then did a great job of describing the tension between the God of War (Old Testament) & the God of Love (New Testament.
Stay tuned for some photos.
Next Cafe: March 27 at PPC (The Gathering Place)

thoughts from our last cafe...
Just wanted to let you know that we had a great cafe to start our season. There may not have been as many people as we anticipated, but the vibe and feel of the night were great. Katrina James sang some of her sweet melodies and we talked a bit about how we can write a better life story by being attentive to the Writer of our lives. You can read Donald Miller's new book for more insights on that.
Our next Cafe is on Saturday, February 20 at 7:59pm. We'll be at King Street Church in Oshawa. See you there!
